About Dr. Puranik
Chetan Puranik, MD, is a pain management specialist serving patients at Centers for Pain Control and Vein Care in Hobart, LaPorte, Munster, and Valparaiso, and Highland, Indiana. He is double-board certified in pain management and anesthesiology.
Dr. Puranik earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He then graduated with his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his residency in anesthesiology there as well. Afterward, he completed a fellowship in chronic and interventional pain medicine, also at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Puranik established Centers for Pain Control and Vein Care, an independent medical practice, in 2009, with its first location in La Porte, Indiana. As the practice developed, Dr. Puranik found that several surrounding areas were highly underserved, and patients had a difficult time finding physicians who could successfully address their pain issues. He, therefore, began recruiting partners to help expand the practice and provide much-needed services to those patients.
